Livestock continoues to decline

When data about livestock was updated, it showed that livestock numbers continue to decline in the monitoring area of the sustainability project Gaumur.

Since 2011, number of sheeps and goats has decreased from 42,675 to 37,589 or 5,086 livestock. The same is to say about other types of licestock, numbers have declined during the period (2011-2018), except when number of cattle is examined. Since 2011, number of cattle has increased by 441, from 4,392 to 4,833. Most of the livestock grown in the area are sheep and cattle, so it is interesting to see the numbers of those to types of livestock evolving in such different ways.  Probably there is not a straightforward explanation, but several factors that explain this different evolution.

Here can you find further information on the number of livestock in the monitoring area.
